Nikki Glaser is well known for roast comedy, having participated in multiple high-profile televised roasts of celebrities such as Alec Baldwin, Tom Brady, Bruce Willis, and Rob Lowe for platforms like Comedy Central and Netflix. Recently, she also hosted the Golden Globe Awards, where she took digs at a host of celebrities. In a recent interview, she clarified whether Hollywood A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio should agree to do a roast.
Leonardo DiCaprio could do a roast only for charitable purposes, as per Nikki Glaser
During an interview with Variety at the Time100 Gala, Glaser said that The Revenant actor shouldn’t actually agree to do a roast. Although she admitted that she would jump at the opportunity if given a chance, she hinted that his career, reputation, and legacy are already firmly established, and roast-style comedy wouldn’t really boost his profile.
“Oh, I don’t think he should do one of those. He doesn’t need to,” Glaser told Variety, adding, “I mean, it would be amazing and I’d love to do it, but no.”
She further stated that if she were advising him, she would not recommend it—but there is a caveat. The comedian said that if he wanted to do it for a cause he is deeply attached to, such as climate change, then maybe he could, and she would definitely sign up for it.
“He should… but he shouldn’t. If I were anyone in his camp, I’d say, ‘Don’t ever do that.’ Maybe if he was donating [the proceeds] to climate change or something. I could see him doing that. But yeah, that’s one I would absolutely sign up for,” she said.
Notably, Glaser also directed a joke towards DiCaprio at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, poking fun at his well-known dating history. “What a career Leonardo DiCaprio has had. Countless iconic performances, you’ve worked with every great director, you’ve won three Golden Globes and an Oscar—and the most impressive thing is you were able to accomplish all that before your girlfriend turned 30,” she quipped at the ceremony.
Roasts are brutal, and even the biggest stars get torn apart in these formats, as every aspect of their lives is dissected in a no-holds-barred style of insult comedy. So, if DiCaprio does decide to sign up for a roast, it must be carefully thought through.
