My Adventures With Superman to adapt Reign of the Supermen, Green Lantern spinoff teased

The upcoming season of My Adventures with Superman will adapt the Reign of the Supermen arc, as multiple Supermen try to claim the Man of Steel’s legacy

Season 3 of the animated series My Adventures with Superman will be released on Adult Swim’s Toonami block on June 13, 2026, with HBO Max streaming it the following day. The upcoming season comes after a nearly two-year gap, largely due to logistics and timing. So, without further delay, let’s get into the nitty-gritty.

Season 3 will introduce different Superman “impostors

Season 3 will adapt the iconic DC Comics arc Reign of the Supermen, in which multiple “Supermen” pop up to lay claim to his legacy following the death of the actual Man of Steel. The show won’t be a direct adaptation but a reinterpretation, with the focus shifting to “What’s a Superman?” featuring different versions with distinct ideologies and values.

“It’s less Death [of Superman] and more about, ‘What’s a Superman?’” showrunner Jake Wyatt told PEOPLE. “The fun thing about Reign of the Supermen is that it’s all these impostors who have the same power set but different values.” Meanwhile, season 3 of My Adventures with Superman introduces three major figures.

Cyborg Superman, who was teased in season 2, will now be central to the upcoming season’s plot. Then there’s Superboy, a reimagined version of the comic-book depiction with emotional and thematic depth. And this third one is Steel, who returns with a smaller role. The show will mainly focus on three of these alternate Supermen, not all four from the comics.

The returning main cast includes Jack Quaid as Clark Kent, Alice Lee as Lois Lane, Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olsen, and Kiana Madeira as Supergirl. The third season opens with Clark looking to settle down and start a life with Lois, though she fears that doing so could cost her position as a top reporter at The Daily Planet. At the same time, Kara is searching for a partner on Earth and has her eyes on Jimmy.

The character has risen to celebrity status as a journalist after proving the existence of aliens. It is during this time that the other Supermen arrive, and the story unfolds. The upcoming season will also feature a cameo from Jessica Cruz, who could lead to a potential spinoff, My Adventures with Green Lantern. Wyatt said the project is in pre-production and awaiting a greenlight. Safe to say, DC is quietly building a shared animated universe.

“I just wanna thank the fans for their patience on that because the fans have been really amazing,” Quaid said to PEOPLE, adding, “It’s a really great season. I’ve seen some of it. It’s really funny, but the stakes are also so much higher.” Are you excited for My Adventures With Superman season 3? Let us know in the comments section below.
