With the VisionQuest series currently in production and eyeing a late 2026 release, Marvel fans are digging for every scrap of info on the synthezoid’s solo outing. There have been reports of multiple legacy characters and AIs making their way back to the screen. And now, Marvel insider Alex Perez has teased that the infamous lawless city of Madripoor is set to return in the Disney+ series.

Madripoor’s neon lights to shine again

During a recent Q&A with Discord users, Alex Perez shared a sizzling scoop on the locations and world-building for the upcoming WandaVision spinoff.

When asked about the scope of Vision’s journey as he attempts to regain his humanity, Perez hinted that the search for his “soul” would lead him back to the criminal underworld of Madripoor.

While Marvel hasn’t dropped an official trailer yet, the setting makes total sense given the show’s gritty, sci-fi direction.

VisionQuest-wise, they’re exploring the parts of the MCU that deal with high-tech black markets and forgotten history,” Alex replied. “Madripoor is definitely back on the table. It’s where a lot of the ‘recycled’ tech and shady deals involving AI are going down.

While Perez didn’t explicitly mention if we’d see the Power Broker again, the return to this Falcon and the Winter Soldier locale suggests Vision might be looking for more than just memories in those neon-soaked streets.

The character’s return to action features a heavy-hitting cast, including James Spader’s long-awaited return as Ultron. With Terry Matalas (Star Trek: Picard) at the helm, the series is leaning hard into philosophical sci-fi.

Along with Ultron, we’re getting T’Nia Miller as Jocasta and Todd Stashwick as the bounty hunter Paladin, who is reportedly hunting Vision across these international locales.

The show is set to debut in late 2026 and will consist of eight episodes. Since Perez has already hinted that the series will have “very light” ties to Avengers: Doomsday, using Madripoor as a hub for the MCU’s tech-based characters keeps the stakes grounded but global.

But guess what? Right after Perez’s revelation, many X users started theorizing that this is how we finally get a proper Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. tie-in.

Created as the third part of a trilogy following WandaVision and Agatha All Along, the series is already generating massive hype for its “Vision vs. Ultron” rematch. Meanwhile, one user pointed out an interesting point about the setting.

Madripoor is basically the Mos Eisley of the MCU,” they wrote. “If Vision is hiding there, he’s definitely trying to stay off the grid from S.W.O.R.D.

With information still mostly under wraps, the guessing game regarding which other AIs might pop up in the underworld continues. Who do you think Vision is meeting in the Low Town bars?
