At last, Jason Momoa discussed his involvement in the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow movie as an intergalactic bounty hunter, Lobo. The actor gave a speech during CinemaCon and talked about the project with enthusiasm. According to him, the DCU movie will premiere on June 26, 2026.

Momoa refers to Lobo as a dream come true: new footage leaves fans in awe

In his speech, Momoa highlighted his lifelong admiration for the character and revealed that Lobo appeared in his early years as a comic book fan. He admitted that it seemed surreal for him to portray himself now, as his younger self would be “freaking out” at the opportunity. It makes sense to him because Lobo is a tough guy who enjoys riding space bikes, which he can relate to.

Besides, there were also some snippets from the upcoming DCU film featuring Momoa as Lobo. His appearance was very similar to his comic counterpart – he had white skin, red eyes, and black hair. In addition, Momoa dressed in heavy biker gear with chains around his neck and waist.

The most notable scene was Lobo riding his bike and challenging a bunch of space pirates. Director Craig Gillespie described his portrayal as chaotic and emphasized that Momoa had a knack for quirky humor despite the film’s gloomy atmosphere.

It is worth noting that Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, starring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, is an important piece of DC Studios’ vision. As of now, studio executives have hinted that they may include Momoa’s Lobo in their upcoming projects.

Moreover, alongside the film, there will also be a behind-the-scenes book called From Comic to Screen: The Art of Supergirl, released on September 29, 2026.
