The long-drawn legal battle between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively has seemingly come to an end, with both parties reaching a settlement just weeks before the remaining claims were set to go to trial next week. In a recent interview, Baldoni’s It Ends With Us co-star opened up about how overwhelming the lengthy legal battle had been for his friend.
Adam Mondschein says Lively “hurt” his friend amid highly publicized lawsuits
Adam Mondschein, who played a doctor in It Ends With Us, appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored and opened up about the toll the highly publicized legal battle had taken on Baldoni and his family. He accused Lively of “hurting” his friend by filing lawsuits alleging sexual harassment during the production of It Ends With Us, creating a hostile work environment, and orchestrating a smear campaign against her alongside his production company, Wayfarer Studios.
“I have very firm feelings about the actions that she took,” Mondschein said, adding, “She hurt my friend and has been hurting my friend.”
“Both Jamey Heath (Wayfarer Studios producer) and Justin Baldoni, they have such huge hearts. They are really, truly great people. They are not Hollywood people. They are people that wanna make movies that have a heart, that help, that are of service, and that’s why they got into it,” he further said.
He also said that the legal feud, which played out in front of the public, had taken a significant toll on Baldoni and his family. “He is overwhelmed. The burden that this is on the family, like how they were dragged into the public, and if you picture for a second, people are starting to get to know him more, and his family, his kids, his wife. It is unbearable.”
While backing Baldoni, Mondschein also stated that he felt “sorry” for Blake Lively. “Ultimately, I can’t imagine what it must be like to be inside of her mind,” he said.
Reportedly, there was no monetary compensation for any of the parties in the settlement. However, later court documents revealed that Lively still has a pending motion for attorney fees, punitive damages, and treble damages against Baldoni in relation to his failed counter-defamation suit. The legal teams of both parties issued a joint statement expressing hope that the settlement would bring the legal matter to a close and allow both actors to “move forward constructively and in peace.”
