Fantastic Four is yet another marvellous masterpiece, pun intended. There has been a lot of confusion as to what the timeline is regarding the stories, especially with the heroes’ integration into Doomsday. Here’s everything that’s been said about the franchise’s chronology in the MCU.
Fantastic Four to shift to the main MCU timeline
Lately, Alex Perez, a close associate and reporter for the MCU, was asked about the reboot of Fantastic Four in a Discord Q&A. He shed light on the exact place the events are set in, and here’s what he had to say about that:
When asked how the reboot would look, Perez said, “Same as before. Except now, mutants will be more prominent, and The Fantastic Four will be living among 616.”
Earth 616 is where most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe stories take place, including Doctor Strange, Thor, Hulk, and Captain America.
Fantastic Four usually takes place in Earth 828, which is best described by its futuristic tech, engineering, and architecture. After an accident in space, Reed Richards and Sue Storm, along with their colleagues Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm, acquire superhuman abilities.
Doomsday is set in Earth 616, where the story will feature both the Avengers and the Fantastic Four as they battle Doctor Doom, who wishes to dominate the multiverse.
Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom, also previously appeared in the 2025 film The Fantastic Four: First Steps, where Robert Downey Jr made a small cameo in the movie itself.
This movie is set in the 828 timeline, an alternate space, especially after their mishap in space. It is also different from the 2005 film in terms of its conceptualization.
While the initial films focused on Victor Von Doom’s villainy and his relationship with Sue Storm, here he is positioned as the final boss. The movie also brings in Galactus as a formidable force and villain, who poses an immense threat to humanity as a whole.
With Fantastic Four being integrated into the 616 timeline, everything falls into place, and the plot seems much less convoluted, as pointed out by many readers and viewers time and time again.
