Disney’s Kim Possible animated reboot spotted on SAG AFTRA listing, per reports

Kim Possible animated reboot teased by SAG listing, hinting at Disney bringing back the iconic teen spy.

With Disney finally digging into the vault for its most iconic teen spy, Kim Possible fans are losing it. There have been reports of the studio wanting to bring back the animated Heat after the live-action version flopped. And now, a leak on the SAG-AFTRA project listing has teased that a new animated reboot is officially in the works.

SAG-AFTRA leak hints at Kim’s animated comeback

During this week’s crawl through union documents, fans found a sizzling scoop on the future of the series. A user spotted a listing for “Kim Possible Reboot” under the animation category, which is already sending the internet into a tailspin.

While Disney hasn’t confirmed a release date, the project being listed as “Active” brought light to the fact that voice work might already be starting behind closed doors.

Reboot-wise, Marvel and Disney are leaning into their older hits because they want to focus on established brands,” insiders noted. “As for the animation plot… I heard something interesting about a certain team that’s been dormant, but the new technology will be used to give the show a fresh look while keeping the classic 2D feel.

While the listing didn’t explicitly mention the original cast, the “Active” status makes the case for a full-scale return. The project follows the massive success of other revivals like Phineas and Ferb and X-Men ’97.

Since Disney has already seen how much money nostalgia makes, it makes sense for a new team to utilize the groundbreaking gadgets and villains that made the original a hit.

But guess what? Right after the listing was found, many X users hoped to see the original voice actors, Christy Carlson Romano and Will Friedle, back in the booth.

Created and written by Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle, the show debuted in 2002 and changed the game for girl-power cartoons. Meanwhile, one user pointed out a different point with an interesting theory.

Disney had this listing sitting there for a while,” they wrote. “I’m guessing it’s finally moving because they saw how much we missed the 2D style. Even if they haven’t announced it.”

With information still under wraps, the guessing game may continue. Who do you think will be the first villain Kim fights in 2026?
