The battle of lawsuits between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has finally come to an end. The two Hollywood actors have settled and issued a joint statement signaling “closure” and an end to the long-drawn legal process. While the official terms of the settlement remain undisclosed, TMZ reports that no money was exchanged between the two parties.
No monetary compensation for both parties, no apology from Baldoni, as per media reports
According to TMZ, it appears that both Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni did not receive any monetary compensation from the settlement. As per sources close to TMZ, Lively was prepared to go all guns blazing for the trial, which was set to take place this month, even bringing in a new law firm, Sussman Godfrey, known for handling high-profile legal cases. In the end, Lively walked away with a settlement statement, which reportedly did not include an apology from Baldoni.
It must be noted that most of the claims in Lively’s lawsuit, including allegations of sexual harassment, defamation, civil conspiracy, and multiple workplace-related misconduct charges tied to what happened on the sets of It Ends With Us, were ultimately dismissed, with only claims of breach of contract, retaliation, and aiding/abetting retaliation heading toward trial.
Nevertheless, there is clearly no winner in the lawsuit. However, as per media reports, the lawyers representing both parties ended up making millions, while the plaintiff and the defendant closed the two-year-long legal battle with a joint statement.
“The end product – the movie It Ends With Us – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life,” a joint statement released by Lively and Baldoni’s legal teams read, adding, “raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind.”
“It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online,” it further stated.
The legal battle began in 2024, when Blake Lively accused Justin Baldoni of s—– harassment on the sets of It Ends With Us, along with retaliation and a smear campaign. Baldoni filed defamation lawsuits, alleging that Lively and Ryan Reynolds had damaged his career, spiraling into an ever-evolving legal case that now appears to have come to an end.
