Brooklyn Beckham caused a stir online when he posted a series of Instagram stories detailing his estrangement and accusations against the Beckhams earlier this year. Since then, there have been no confirmed developments regarding reconciliation within the family. In a recent interview, Victoria Beckham gave a measured statement about her son’s decision to cut ties with the family.
Victoria Beckham refuses to go into specifics, says she loves her children
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Beckham publicly spoke out for the first time after her son severed ties with her. She responded to her son’s explosive accusations about her allegedly attempting to “ruin” his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz, and trying to control the media narrative around his life.
Victoria stated that she and David Beckham have always tried to “protect” their children and love them despite public scrutiny. She avoided going into specifics about the situation.
“I think that we’ve always, we love our children so much. We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it,” the Spice Girls alum said.
In the same interview, she stated that the negative press surrounding Brooklyn’s estrangement hasn’t had a meaningful impact on her business. The former pop star, who now owns several high-end luxury labels in fashion and beauty, said, “I think that ultimately people are buying my product because the product is really good.”
“I don’t think they’re buying my eyeliner just because it’s me,” she further added.
Since 2025, there has been tabloid coverage of tensions between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents, with reports of a breakdown of ties caused by his marriage to Nicola Peltz and other alleged disagreements. However, in January 2026, Brooklyn Beckham put out a string of stories on Instagram accusing his parents of sabotaging his marriage and attempting to control the media narrative by putting out “countless lies” about him and his family.
Furthermore, he said that the relationship between his parents and siblings was “inauthentic,” fueled by “performative social media posts.” He also accused Victoria Beckham of cancelling Nicola’s dress at the “eleventh hour” and allegedly trying to pressure him into signing over the rights to his name before his marriage.
He stated that he does “not want to reconcile with my family.” Since then, there have been reports of Brooklyn reaching out to make amends with his parents and his siblings, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. Reportedly, the eldest son of the Beckham family has blocked his parents and siblings on Instagram.
