VisionQuest is yet another promising series that most Marvel fans are on the lookout for. The series is all set to have Paul Bettany returning for his iconic role as Vision, but that’s not all. Ultron might get an enhanced and special design for the series, and here’s what we know so far!

Ultron gets a special design for VisionQuest

As reported by Cosmic Circus, Ultron will get a special design for VisionQuest. This was further confirmed by Alex Perez, an insider and reporter closely associated with Marvel.

Perez recently had a Q&A on Discord alongside Cosmic Circus reporter Lizzie Hill, where fans asked them questions about Spider-Man, Marvel’s upcoming projects, and most importantly, VisionQuest.

When asked what the story of VisionQuest would be like, Perez said, “A fantastic story of an AI trying to humanize itself. But more than that, it’s a story of fathers and sons, and it’s really sentimental.”

As of now, Paul Bettany will return to the series as Vision. Todd Stashwick will play Paladin, and James Spader will reprise his role of Ultron.

The series will be spearheaded by Terry Matalas, who previously worked on Star Trek: Picard. It will focus on White Vision’s journey as he sets out to explore and discover his true self.

After Vision died, S.W.O.R.D. rebuilt his body at the end of WandaVision. The story will also explore his dynamics with other AIs, including J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y., D.U.M.E., and Edith.

At the Los Angeles Comic Con last year, Bettany teased the plot of the mini-series, saying, “It’s about intergenerational trauma… fathers and sons and denial of pain and denial of your own truth and coming to terms with who and what you are.”

VisionQuest will likely expand on the dynamic both Ultron and Vision share, where it goes beyond the binary of a creator and a creation. The same also applies to Vision’s children.

While created by Ultron, Vision grapples with his identity and purpose throughout the Avengers. He witnesses loss and pain, and it thus shapes his trajectory as a character.

VisionQuest will play along those lines, and it would be interesting to see how the creators flesh him out further. The series is slated for release in 2026.
