MAPPA is the famed animation studio behind anime like Chainsaw Man, Attack on Titan, and most popularly, Jujutsu Kaisen. JJK ended its third season, and while a fourth season is in the works, the animation studio treated the fans with Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo’s surprise video, and here’s how it went!
MAPPA’s Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo video goes viral
If there’s one true thing, it’s that JJK fans are being pampered. This is true for the Modulo promotional video released on Shonen Jump Channel’s official YouTube channel, which crossed 2.9 million views.
It is a 30-second clip that is brilliantly animated and shows what fans can expect from a future adaptation. It is also important to note that the studio hasn’t made any confirmation regarding the series being in development.
For those out of the loop, Modulo manga ended recently. It focuses on the aftermath of the main events that happened in JJK and is set almost 68 years after the Culling Game.
The sequel manga now focuses on the younger generation of Jujutsu sorcerers who work in tandem with an extraterrestrial race of sorcerers called Simurians. Like most humans, even the Simurians possess cursed energy.
But what made the clip go so viral? Well, first of all, JJK isn’t finished yet, and to drop a clip of Modulo right after Season 3’s ending is a masterstroke.
JJK Fans are eating well, but mostly, MAPPA is living up to its promises of craftsmanship. Time and time again, they proved that their brilliance in animation is unmatched, and they’re on par with Toei and Madhouse as one of the top animation studios in Japan.
Secondly, the clip is a sneak peek of all the menace and mayhem that will unfold in Modulo. Dabura looks intimidating and notorious in the teaser, and so does Yuka Okkotsu as she is shown unleashing her cursed technique.
What also would give fans the chills is the flashback scenes of the trio, as well as Mahoraga, who makes a comeback in the teaser. While the release date and production status of JJK Modulo haven’t been made official, it looks more than promising!
