Sinners actress Li Jun Li joins The Last of Us S3
Li Jun Li, who starred in Ryan Coogler’s Academy Award-winning film Sinners, will be cast in The Last of Us’ Season 3. This was officially confirmed by Variety in their exclusive feature.
In Sinners, Jun Li played the role of Grace Chow, a headstrong grocery store owner who goes toe to toe with vampires. Chow will go to any lengths to protect her family from those creatures, and Jun Li embodied the character perfectly.
In The Last of Us, she is cast for the role of Miriam, Lara, and Yev’s mother. She is a Seraphite, and it is well established that these individuals are a cult that practices live sacrifices.
Up until now, the series showcased the heartwarming bond between Joel and Ellie, but with Season 2 unveiling losses and betrayals, one thing is clear: Ellie must navigate the path of vengeance on her own now.
With Joel’s death in Season 2, Ellie faces threats, including Seraphites and the WLF, which is hunting her down for her immunity to the virus.
Season 2 was nothing short of a tearjerker, especially with Joel’s farewell and countless deaths that wrecked Ellie emotionally. She let Abby and Lev escape, but with Miriam’s appearance in Season 3, Ellie will likely have a confrontation with her enemies yet again.
Abby, who sought vengeance after Joel killed her father, is spared, and Season 3 will likely focus on her relationship with Lev and Yara. It will also expand on her backstory as suggested by some sources.
Needless to say, it will be fascinating to see how it pans out for Li Jun Li. The actress is also geared up for her upcoming project, Spider Noir, which will be released on 27th May 2026.
The Last of Us Season 3 is slated for release in 2027.
