One of the biggest music festivals in the world, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, ended on April 19, 2026. In a recent interview, Severance actor Adam Scott talked about his Coachella experience, as he was pulled into attending the event because of his daughter Frankie. However, it turned out to be an ordeal for the actor, who was physically drained by the end of it.
Scott hated Coachella experience as he cites logistical hurdles
Talking to Jimmy Kimmel on his show Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Scott explained that he had no interest in going to Coachella, but Frankie somehow convinced both him and his partner, Naomi, to take her and a group of friends to the music event without ever formally asking. However, what followed was an exhausting four-day experience, as he described it.
“Our daughter, Frankie, she’s 17 years old. She just somehow—and I don’t remember when and how—convinced [my wife] Naomi and I to bring her and four of her friends to Coachella. She never asked us. It just became a thing we were doing. And so we did it. We brought her and her friends to Coachella,” he told Kimmel.
He said that he and his partner spent four days dropping off and picking up their daughter and her friends from the festival. However, the “terrible” experience only began on one of the days when the Parks and Recreation star actually decided to attend the music festival.
“We were there for like four days. Somehow, we were there for four days. We dropped them off and picked them up a couple times, and then also one of the days we actually went to Coachella, we went inside and everything. It was terrible. I hated it,” he further stated.
The main complaint from the Hollywood actor wasn’t the musical acts, but the period in between, where he pointed out practical challenges such as having no place to relax while waiting for other performances. “There’s nowhere to lay down and relax while you wait,” Scott noted.
Moreover, he stated that it took an hour just to find his daughter and her friends, and then another two and a half hours to get out of the parking lot, reaching home way past bedtime.
“It took us an hour just to find Frankie and her friends. We find them, we get them in the car, and then we were in the parking lot for two and a half hours just to get out of the parking lot. And like, we went to bed at like 5:00 AM,” he stated.
Despite the frustration, there were a couple of highlight moments for Scott as he got to witness The Strokes perform, and also liked Justin Bieber’s performance, calling it “terrific.”
Scott’s account resonates because it highlights a generational divide in festival culture, as for young attendees, it is a must-do experience, with the logistical hassles not creating much of an issue, but for parents, it can be stressful.
