Antoine Fuqua’s biopic on the late King of Pop is finally here. Michael is all the rage online as well as offline, but that’s not it. The movie is now being parodied by Marlon Wayans’ Scary Movie 6, and here’s how most fans reacted to it.

Scary Movie 6 features ‘Michael’ parody in first look

Scary Movie 6 released its first poster, which shows Ghostface donning Michael Jackson’s red jacket. The character also dons the classic black sunglasses with a golden rim while holding a dagger in his right hand.

The poster is titled “ Prepare to Hee-Hee. Touching Fans everywhere June 5.” The hee hee, as we all know, is a reference to MJ’s style of singing, and it’s a recurring detail in his song Billie Jean.

Right after the poster was shared on the internet, most fans slammed it as being extremely disrespectful to the late pop star. Some even suggest that the posters allude to the recent allegation about MJ.

Previously, Scary Movie 3 also heavily mocked Jackson’s media slander and reduced it to a spoof. The character was played by Edward Moss, who reduced the star to a caricature.

The movie also showed Jackson hiding in Tom Logan’s daughter’s room. It was also something that the late singer revealed time and time again, how the media slandering his image and carrying out false allegations affected him.

Jackson wrote a letter which was published in People Weekly in 1987 saying: “Most people don’t know me, that is why they write such things in which most is not true. I cry very, very often because it hurts, and I worry about the children, all my children all over the world; I live for them. I must endure for the power I was sent forth, for the world, for the children. But have mercy, for I’ve been bleeding a long time now. MJ”

Aside from backlash, many internet users responded to the parody with humorous GIFs. They also noted how the movie itself spoke about the controversies more than the biopic itself, which seems glazed and sugar-coated, as some speculated.
