Sadie Sink’s leaked look teases Jean Grey’s debut in the MCU
As reported by IGN, an exclusive picture of Sadie Sink from the sets of Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been making the rounds. It featured the Stranger Things actress wearing a yellow hoodie under a green oversized coat, with strands of her signature red hair falling on her face. Those familiar with the comics know Grey has worn the classic green-and-yellow X-Men suit in multiple arcs.
Unsurprisingly, Marvel Studios neither released nor acknowledged the snap. However, it showed a Google Gemini logo, which was likely added during the upscaling process. Marvel insider Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus also silenced doubters of the picture’s legitimacy, saying it matches the description he’s been sharing about the character’s costume.
Moreover, the details match Sink’s potential character shown for just a split second in the movie’s trailer. It featured a back shot of a character in a green coat with a lighter hoodie, while the same character is tied to a chair in another scene. Pictures circulated from the sets of Spider-Man 4 last year also showed Sadie wearing something similar.
Over the past couple of weeks, many insiders have been imagining Sink as the next Jean Grey. Since it was clear that the actress wouldn’t play another regular character in the Spider-Man franchise, the speculation carried even more weight. In 2025, Sink was rumored to be part of Avengers: Secret Wars and later reprise the role in Marvel’s upcoming X-Men reboot directed by Jake Schreier.
So, Sink’s role in the new Spider-Man movie could serve as a gentle introduction before she goes big in other movies in the MCU.
