Peyton List, Josh Dallas join We Were Liars Season 2 cast

Prime Video’s We Were Liars Season 2 adds Josh Dallas, Peyton List, and four more stars as the series expands its 1999 Sinclair family flashback storyline.

Josh Dallas and Peyton List have now been confirmed to join the cast of We Were Liars Season 2 as the streamer develops the Sinclair family’s history through a significant 1999 flashback story arc. The cast announcement came on May 7, 2026, along with multiple young versions of Sinclair family members and a brand-new original character from the past of Beechwood Island.

We Were Liars expands its dark family history to a second season

Dallas will be playing a young Harris Sinclair, the wealthy family patriarch portrayed in Season 1 by David Morse. Meanwhile, List will take on the role of Tipper Sinclair in her younger days, well before the version portrayed by Wendy Crewson.

In We Were Liars Season 2, audiences will get to experience two timelines set in the present day and during the summer of 1999. In these flashbacks, the audience will learn about a crucial family tragedy that happened decades before Cadence Sinclair uncovered the family’s past secrets.

Parker Lapaine has been cast in the role of Carrie Sinclair, an obedient eldest daughter who prepares to attend Harvard College but finds her world turned upside down upon meeting a mysterious newcomer. Elysia Roorbach has joined as young Penny Sinclair, with Madison Wolfe taking up the role of Bess Sinclair.

An additional original character added to the plot will be Pfeff, a damaged New England college student who shows up at the guest house during the summer. Pfeff is played by Costa D’Angelo and is expected to be central to the consequences of the events that happen in 1999 and impact Carrie Sinclair.

In the present-day plotline, Emily Alyn Lind returns as Cadence Sinclair Eastman as she continues to investigate the family’s dark past. Joseph Zada will reprise his role as Johnny Sinclair Dennis. We Were Liars will also expand the plot concerning Ebon, whose character was recently upgraded to series regular status. In Season 1, he made a few appearances as a dock worker who was introduced to Mirren.

Behind the scenes, Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie will be back as the co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers of the series. Additionally, author E. Lockhart continues to oversee the series as an executive producer.

Production on the upcoming Season 2 has been set to start sometime during summer 2026, with a likely 2027 premiere on Prime Video.
