The Mandalorian and Grogu is finally here, and it’s releasing this month. Fans are excited, but that’s not all. Pedro Pascal, as it seems, is even more stoked up for the film, and the actor recently opened up about his plans for playing Din Djarin in the future.
Pedro Pascal opens up on playing Din Djarin
At a Q&A in London, Pedro Pascal was asked how long he would want to play the Mandalorian, also known as Din Djarin, in the Star Wars Franchise. The actor said, “It’s the longest creative relationship I’ve had. It’s the character that I’ve played the longest. Hopefully, I get to continue playing him for as long as my body, or as many bodies as we put into the suit, can take it.”
This was further confirmed by the Games Radar team, who attended the event. Likely, the Mandalorian isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, as Pascal hinted.
It is considered one of his best performances that even most fans vouch for. While he is stoic, protective, and pragmatic, Din Djarin softens up around Grogu.
The Mandalorian and Grogu is all about Din Djarin hunting down the remnants of the tyrannical Imperial forces. The character itself is blanketed with complexities, including his painful backstory.
Djarin lost his parents in the war and became a foundling. It is interesting because, as an adult, he takes care of Grogu, who is adopted as a foundling.
Their relationship of a ward and guardian is endearing, and it also points to Djarin’s way of reparenting himself through Grogu. It is also fascinating how Pascal brings all these nuances of being both a fierce warrior and a loving and caring parent through his acting.
While he appeared as his character Din Djarin in the series The Mandalorian, Pascal also did the voice acting for the masked scenes. He is sure to bring back the same nitty-gritty in the upcoming movie.
The Mandalorian and Grogu features an illustrious cast featuring Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, Jonny Coyne, Dave Filoni, Steve Blum, and so on.
The Mandalorian and Grogu is slated for release on May 22, 2026.
