Judy Blume’s Forever made waves on the internet when the TV series was first released. It is one of the finest rom-com series by Netflix, and while some fans gave up on it, well, here’s some good news for them, so let’s dive right into it!
Forever stars share major update on Season 2
As reported by Film Updates, Forever Season 2 is finally here. It is in pre-production stages, and it was confirmed by both lead actors, Lovie Simone and Michael Cooper Jr. Both stars are seen posing with the script, and the news was also confirmed by Deadline, which shared the logline of the official script. The second season will be set after the pandemic.
After four years, Keisha and Justin navigate their love life and relationships as adults. The pair are in two different relationships, but what would happen once they unite, and how would they explore their relationship afresh?
We do know that season 2 will also have an interesting and promising cast, especially with the addition of Avery Wills Jr. and Tre McBride, who will play the roles of Jaden and Elijah, respectively.
Malaika Guttoh will also be joining the cast of Season 2 for her role as Ameena. She is known for her roles in Christmas Tree Lane and Cul-de-Sac.
Based on Judy Blume’s novel of the same name, Forever is a love story of two young athletes who find love while finding themselves surrounded by peer pressure and parental pressure. They work together in harmony to understand life situations while simultaneously balancing their careers and love.
Forever is often praised for its realistic depictions and portrayal of love, family expectations, and most importantly, Simone and Cooper Jr’s acting. While season 1 ended with Keisha and Justin’s breakup, both characters parted ways in a rather mature way. They had different expectations, and clearly their plans did not align, which makes sense.
Season 2’s renewal proves that there is more to their story, and Mara Brock Akil will bring back the same depth and intensity that the series had, except it focuses on their adult selves.
