Margot Robbie has announced that she will work together with Bradley Cooper in a prequel movie to the film Ocean’s 11. The news was revealed during Warner Bros.’ CinemaCon panel held on April 14, 2026. In the movie, the audience will learn about the origin story of Danny Ocean’s parents, who lived near the Monaco Grand Prix in 1962.

Both stars get the opportunity to play vital roles in the development of Ocean’s life

Robbie has called both characters the creators of Danny Ocean, which means that they have formed his behavior and thinking patterns. The plot will not center on the main character but on the influential individuals in his life, making the story take place somewhere else other than the original location, Las Vegas.

The film will be directed by Bradley Cooper, who will write, produce, and act in the movie. It will be his fourth attempt to prove that he is a versatile director after the films A Star Is Born, Maestro, and Is This Thing On?. The screenwriter will be Carrie Solomon, and Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap, will support the project.

Some changes took place in the process of the movie’s development. At first, directors Jay Roach and Lee Isaac Chung worked on the script, but they eventually left the project. Moreover, the studio cast Ryan Gosling in the film as the lead male actor; however, the star decided to abandon the project in late 2025.

Warner Bros. plans to release the movie in theaters on June 25, 2027. Besides, the company will continue to work on the new installment of the franchise, Ocean’s 14. George Clooney will reprise his role in the film together with other beloved actors.
