Lamar Odom has recently come out with a documentary titled Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, chronicling his substance abuse issues. However, his ex-wife, Khloé Kardashian, is not happy with some of Odom’s statements during the press tour for the project. Now, on her podcast, the media mogul explained how she agreed to be part of the documentary as a “favor” to the ex-Lakers forward.

Khloé felt “dumb” doing the documentary

On the Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, she first addressed Odom’s comments in the documentary about how his marriage to her was partly motivated by her family’s fame and affluent lifestyle. The Good American co-founder felt very offended by that assertion, stating she felt “dumb” doing the documentary.

“Behind the scenes, you, your friends—you guys are all saying that you were with me just for fame—that’s like some f—– up s—. I felt so dumb. I spent hours and time doing this documentary,” Kardashian said.

She further said that she only participated in the documentary “as a favor” to Odom and was not paid a dime for appearing in it. She felt misled after agreeing to participate and was frustrated that her support during the former NBA player’s substance abuse crisis was being downplayed publicly.

“Now Lamar is doing press, annoyed with me, claiming or insinuating I am a liar. All these things—discrediting me, saying that I wasn’t the one who helped him,” she further stated.

Moreover, she stated that if the audience’s perception of Lamar was negative after watching the documentary, then he should take the blame rather than discrediting her version of events.

“You couldn’t show, after the last 11 years, your sobriety journey?” she said, adding, “If there was nothing positive to show at the end, that’s on you.”

Odom’s documentary revisits his 2015 overdose and recovery, and Khloé was heavily involved during that time, pausing their divorce to support him through his recovery.

As per media reports, Khloé Kardashian hesitated to be part of the documentary, as she didn’t want to relive that “traumatic” chapter of her life, but relented in the end, as Netflix wanted her version of events to complete the documentary.
