Jack Schlossberg calls out Ryan Murphy for ‘making money’ out of Kennedy family through ‘Love Story’

Kennedy family backlash grows as Jack Schlossberg criticizes Ryan Murphy’s Love Story series.

The brewing feud between the Kennedy family and media mogul Ryan Murphy has reached a boiling point since the February 2026 FX/Hulu premiere of Murphy’s drama series Love Story.

Jack Schlossberg slams Ryan Murphy’s Love Story

On March 2, 2026, Jack Schlossberg, grandson of President JFK, appeared on CBS’s Sunday Morning to publicly lambaste the series, which tells the tale of the romance between JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. “If you want to know someone who’s never met anyone in my family, knows nothing about us, talk to Ryan Murphy. The guy knows nothing about what he’s talking about, and he’s making a ton of money on a grotesque display of someone else’s life.”

According to Schlossberg, Murphy has produced a “grotesque display” of someone else’s life and has profited from the Kennedys’ private grief. “It’s Fiction with a capital F.” It’s a blurring of the lines between history and entertainment at a time when misinformation is rampant.

“I would hope that Mr. Murphy would donate some of the millions of dollars of profits that he’s making to maybe some of the causes that John championed throughout his life. Maybe he would donate some of that money to the JFK Library to help keep President Kennedy’s memory alive, but he’s not. He’s making money. This is not a documentary.”

Schlossberg’s complaint, however, does not end with the film industry. He based his complaint on the current political climate and the current state of the nation, which was 2026 at the time of the statement. He claimed the Kennedy name has become a “sort of a human punching bag, both by renaming the Kennedy Center after himself, by doing a false reinvestigation into the assassination, and dismantling all the programs that he fought for. There’s a lot of misinformation now and iconography being used about the Kennedy family, my family, at a time when we really can’t afford to confuse people.” This includes the president’s supporters and the media, who use the Kennedy legacy for political symbolism.

Schlossberg went on to say, based upon the current political climate, the Kennedys “can’t afford to confuse people.” Murphy has previously responded to the backlash by stating Schlossberg was too young to remember his uncle.
