Today, April 8, 2026, Invincible Season 4 Episode 6 “You Look Horrible” presents us with a dramatic shift. Having dealt with Conquest in the bloody battle depicted in Episode 5, this week’s episode slows down the action to talk about the aftereffects and the scary silence that precedes the coming storm—the start of the Viltrumite War.

The after-effects of the fight with Conquest

The burning question in people’s minds today is whether they have buried Conquest or not. Following the graphic depiction of Mark strangling the Viltrumite in Episode 5, in the next one, we receive a confirmation. Early in the episode, Nolan (Omni-Man) reveals that they have “given Conquest a memorial” on the planet where they are stranded.

Today, fans of the show are discussing a post-credits sequence where Invincible seems to play with a common trope associated with “horror movies.” We see an intense build-up around Conquest’s burial, and then the camera focuses on a spot from which a hand might be trying to break through the dirt, but the episode cuts abruptly with a whoosh of wind and to a black screen.

We got to watch a suspenseful horror-movie-like build-up, and we are very relieved that we finally got rid of the pesky villain (conquest) to give space to Thragg’s domination.

Fans on Reddit and X are laughing right now because many people believe this was “the troll of the year.” There are those who are concerned about the possibility of the villain returning to haunt our heroes, but comics fans have made it clear—they think the writers were playing with the trope. For the time being, Conquest is definitely put to rest.

The episode’s title, could not be more on point. Mark spends a big chunk of this episode in a two-month coma after being gravely injured during his fight with Conquest. In doing so, the show can “fast-forward” the development of the galactic war.

According to some reviewers, however, it results in the conflict seeming somewhat separate from the characters’ lives. While the main protagonist is incapacitated, there is someone else taking center stage in this episode. The father-and-son duo between Nolan and Oliver is the star element. We get to see the raw, animalistic part of Nolan as he tries to nurse his sons back to health.

A touching moment between Nolan and Oliver includes Oliver accusing him of being a monster all his life, specifically with how he treated his mother, Andressa, and Debbie. The long-awaited appearance of Grand Regent Thragg (Lee Pace) is another highlight of the show.

Although Pace plays the role quietly and ice-cold, making the contrast with other Viltrumites’ roars even more striking, his performance has made fans feel terrified and excited at the same time.

Many say seeing Thaedus (Peter Cullen) giving an inspirational speech saying, “Let the war begin!” sent goosebumps down their spines after waiting for this for four years.

With the next episode being the penultimate one of the season, there will be much more action coming soon. In this episode, we find out that there is a traitor in the Coalition and a spy for the Viltrumites.

The identity of the mole is revealed to be a data worker who turns out to be the reason why Thaedus is launching a suicide attack on the planet. Finally, in the last moments of the episode, Mark wakes up and joins forces with his father and brother. It’s exciting to see the Graysons as a team, ready to start the war.

The Invincible Season 4 Episode 7, titled “Don’t Do Anything Rash,” comes out on April 15, 2026.
