Chris Evans is not done with the MCU. Everyone already knew he was in Avengers: Doomsday after the first teaser trailer confirmed Steve Rogers is back. Now he’s confirmed for Secret Wars too, and the way it happened is very ‘Evans.’

He said it on a fan Video and the internet ran with it

Instagram user Jessica Zborowski shared audio of a video message she received from Evans. He was asked what he could tease and said, “I can’t give you any Avengers secrets. What can I give you, though? Um, I start work on the next one in a couple of months. I’m in the next one. There’s that.

That’s it. No press release. No Marvel announcement. A fan video leaked, and now it’s everywhere.

Evans is confirmed for Secret Wars, following the December 17, 2027, release. Production on Secret Wars starts in August 2026. The “couple of months” timeline from Evans lines up with that exactly.

The first Doomsday teaser showed Steve Rogers living a quiet life with Peggy Carter and their kid. The current rumor is that Doctor Doom is hunting Rogers because his time travel at the end of Endgame caused the Multiverse incursions that Doom is now trying to fix. Steve’s peace is not lasting long.

What happens in Secret Wars is still mostly unknown. The roster is expected to be even bigger than Doomsday, which already has Chris Hemsworth, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Pedro Pascal, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., the original X-Men cast, and about twenty other people.

Evans showing up for Secret Wars, too, means he’s in this until the very end of the Multiverse Saga.

The Russo Brothers said Doomsday and Secret Wars are the launching pad for the next chapter of the MCU, the Mutant Saga. So even after all of this, there’s more coming.

Evans has been in 14 Marvel Studios productions. This will mark his 15th and 16th. He said goodbye in 2019, but the MCU said not yet. Doomsday is nine months out, and the fandom is already fully unhinged about it.
