Cara Delevingne reveals the secret to her Met Gala look

Cara Delevingne stuns at the Met Gala in a backless Ralph Lauren dress, finally revealing the "one secret" behind her look.

With her spot-on looks over the years, Cara Delevingne has shown why she deserves to be the Met Gala‘s regular attendee. Giving nod to this year’s theme, “Costume Art,” which focuses on the intersection of fashion and fine art, she wore a stunning Ralph Lauren black dress with a steamy back. But the actress could pull off the look with this one secret that she finally spilled at the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Check it out below!

Delevingne unmasks her big secret that made her dress stand out

Cara Delevingne turned up at the event in a black halter-neck dress by Ralph Lauren. Its sleeves featured black mesh that covered the whole back side of the dress. But the sheer back was covered with a beautiful black sequin-embroidered peacock concentrated heavily on the lower back of the dress. The sheer back of Delevingne’s outfit draws from the event’s theme.

In fact, many celebs chose to go with a sculptural/art-body aesthetic as part of it, including the Jenner sisters. In order to do justice to the dress, Delevingne had to take one extreme measure that “scared” her a bit. “I mean, I’m not wearing any u——– and that feels like quite a scary thing. I feel naked on this stage right now, that’s the secret,” she said. “But yeah, it’s beautiful Ralph Lauren custom, so pretty.”

Reacting to a reporter stating that the actress understood the assignment, she replied, “I hope so.” Meanwhile, Cara’s look was inspired by Rooney Mara’s Vogue cover shot in 2011. She also sported a Ralph Lauren dress that featured an embroidered dragon instead of a peacock. While this look was a risky bet, Cara managed to turn heads with her confidence and never-ending charm.

Beyond this splendid appearance, the Only Murders in the Building actress is all set to advance her musical career. After releasing a few singles, she’s gearing up for her first headline tour. Earlier, she explained her switch from acting to singing on Instagram. “Music. It’s forever been my biggest fear and my greatest love. I Forgot and Out of my Head are the first peek inside my stream of consciousness over the last few years. I cannot quite believe we are finally here.”

The post drew sweet reactions from many of her celebrity friends, including Katy Perry and Gigi Hadid. “OMFG,” Hadid wrote, while Perry commented, “Long time coming!! Very proud.” Moreover, Cara’s sister, Poppy, also showed support, writing, “WEEEEEPING!! You were born to do this baba!!!! So PROUD!!!” Did you like Cara Delevingne’s look at the 2026 Met Gala?
