The upcoming installment will center around Wakanda’s mystical heritage rather than its technological advancements or political state. Although there have not been any official titles yet, the new movie is widely known under the name of Shadows of Wakanda.

The director of Black Panther and its sequel, Ryan Coogler, has stated that the third part will not be about science and politics anymore but will concentrate on the mystical foundation of the Black Panther role. As it was reported earlier, the Ancestral Plane will play an important role in the storyline as the threat related to this sphere is anticipated.
Letitia Wright’s character, Shuri, will make another appearance in her capacity as Black Panther, which means that her storyline will revolve around her attempts to find a balance between science and mysticism. At the same time, Winston Duke’s character of M’Baku will remain king of Wakanda, which implies an interesting conflict between the traditional leadership of the country and the necessity to investigate its mystical background.
As for Denzel Washington, it is reported that Marvel created the character specifically for him, which implies that he will play an important and powerful character connected to Wakanda’s heritage.
The production of Black Panther 3 is expected to start in London on June 15, 2026, as seen on the film production calendar. Besides, it is anticipated that the movie will connect to larger events from the Marvel universe, namely, Avengers: Doomsday, that will precede Shadows of Wakanda.
At the moment, there have not been any official dates announced by Marvel Studios yet, although the movie is estimated to appear in 2028.
