Jennie Garth admits divorce made her feel like rock bottom
Talking about that period of her life, Garth shared that she had to deal with a number of negative emotions, such as sadness, grief, anger, loneliness, and depression, that changed her appearance.
“When I looked into the mirror, you know, I just didn’t act right. I could see what that kind of grief, that kind of pain and anger was doing to me. And it showed. I wasn’t putting out any good vibes,” she said.
Then, the actress opened up about the scariest moment of that period when she got rushed to the hospital in order to be forced to vomit out pills she had taken and a—— she had consumed during an overdose.
“I don’t remember the specifics of that moment except that I really felt like at that moment I didn’t want to carry it anymore,” Jennie Garth admitted.
Fortunately, she decided to seek help and went through a treatment program at Canyon Ranch, where she started working on coping with the aftermath of her divorce and dealing with all the stress caused by her fame.
However, Garth also mentioned her physical problems, saying she secretly had to undergo two hip replacement surgeries because of osteoarthritis, which affected not only her hips but also her knees and thumbs, allegedly because of years of horse riding and dancing.
According to the actress, she kept silent about her health issues because she believed it might make her look old compared to her younger husband, Dave Abrams.
In addition, her memoir contains other information about her relationships, including secret affairs with Luke Perry as well as her friendship with Shannen Doherty.
