Ralph Fiennes, Colin Farrell, and Wagner Moura collaborate for Art

As reported by Deadline in their exclusive feature, Ralph Fiennes, Colin Farrell, and Wagner Moura are teaming up for a comedy movie called Art.

The film will be directed by Fernando Meirelles, who previously worked on movies like City of God, The Two Popes, The Constant Gardener, and Blindness as a director.

Art is co-written by Christopher Hampton and Yasmina Reza and follows the journey of three friends. Their friendship and bond are tested when one of them buys an expensive painting. What follows is a chain of hilarious events.

While one friend finds it strange, the other becomes a negotiator between the two friends debating over what art is as it blows up into a conflict.

It’s chaos, comedy, and fun all wrapped into one, but what’s more fascinating about the movie is the cast. There’s Ralph Fiennes, who is known for his breakout roles in Schindler’s List, Conclave, The Menu, and most notably Harry Potter

Then there’s Colin Farrell, who is a multifaceted actor. His works span across different genres, be it crime, thriller, rom-com, or period dramas.

Wagner Moura, as we all know, is an acclaimed actor, filmmaker, and voice artist who has worked on a variety of projects, be it films, video games, or theater and documentary projects. He is a seasoned artist who is praised for his roles in crime films and series, especially Narcos

Art is solely based on the play written by both Hampton and Reza and has been performed on Broadway in Australia. It made its debut in 1994, and there were several speculations about the film being made and possibly in the works.

The play has bagged several accolades, including a Tony Award in 1998, as well as a Molière Award. It has been performed mostly in Paris, London, and most recently, Australia.

Although the movie is currently in its pre-production stage, the release date has yet to be disclosed.
