David Frankel’s The Devil Wears Prada took both Hollywood and the fashion world by storm upon its release in 2006. Anne Hathaway’s Andy inspired a lot of fashion girlies to flock to metro cities and make it big. After two decades, the cult classic dropped its second installment, which has renewed everyone’s interest in the franchise. But it has also made some wonder: Will Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Emily Blunt return for a third? They might, but only under one condition. Check it out below!

The trio reveals the requirement for The Devil Wears Prada 3

The Devil Wears Prada’s main cast includes Streep, Blunt, and Hathaway, with Stanley Tucci in the supporting role. The four of them have reprised their respective roles in the movie’s sequel, which is now in theaters. During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the ladies sat together to discuss the most crucial element that can bring them together for the third chapter. “The script,” Streep said, to which Blunt replied, “A good script. It’s all about the script.”

Agreeing to both responses, Hathaway added, “And then, everybody has to say yes.” Blunt again jumped in, saying, “It’s got to be the core four.” Yep, she was referring to Tucci as the fourth cast member. Interestingly, the actor also happens to be Blunt’s brother-in-law, as he’s married to her sister, Felicity. As the conversation progressed, Meryl couldn’t help but joke that each one of them had to be “alive” to make it happen.

Meanwhile, The Devil Wears Prada 2 follows Streep’s Miranda Priestly, an iconic editor-in-chief. She reunites with Runway’s newly appointed features editor, Andy Sachs, played by Hathaway. The storyline explores the duo’s attempt to pursue Emily Charlton (Blunt), Priestley’s former assistant who’s now managing Dior’s operations in the USA.

Since the sequel came out after 20 years, Hathaway experienced a lot of emotions and major changes while revisiting her iconic role. “The thing that struck me was that when we made the first one, I was just a 22-year-old mess,” Hathaway said. “I mean, I’m in such a different phase of my life. I’m really lucky. I found someone that I love so much [husband Adam Shulman]. We’ve been married for 17 years. We’ve got two kids. I just feel like my life is in a much more complete and whole place. I felt so lost when I was 22, which really worked for the character.

Moreover, Streep described it as an “easy” process and confessed that she enjoyed rediscovering Miranda. Meanwhile, Blunt believes she is “fused” with her “lunatic” character and admitted to having fun while stepping back into the part. Have you watched the second part?
