Masters of the Universe actors Nicholas Galitzine, Idris Elba, and Camila Mendes have come together to support the titular global campaign. Aimed at uplifting the lives of underprivileged children globally, the project is a collaborative effort from Mattel, Amazon MGM Studios, and Save the Children. Galitzine, Elba, and Mendes will feature in a Public Service Announcement, urging moviegoers to commit to the cause.
Masters of the Universe cast stars in a PSA for the new campaign
As reported by Variety, the new PSA will feature the trio from the upcoming movie. It will drop on April 28, coinciding with the Masters of the Universe Day declared in 1987 by former Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley. For those unfamiliar, Save the Children and Mattel have been working together for over 20 years for children’s welfare, and this campaign is a product of their long-standing partnership.
They have previously raised funds to provide educational resources, toys, and support for kids through the Play It Forward initiative. Programs such as Make Summer Fair and You Have The Power have been launched under this project. This time, Mattel and Amazon MGM Studios have encouraged fans “to give back and harness their very own power.”
“Masters of the Universe has inspired generations to discover their inner power,” said Nancy Molenda, Mattel’s vice president of global corporate events and philanthropy. “Through this campaign, we’re extending that legacy to children who need it most—working with Amazon MGM Studios and Save the Children to provide the confidence, resources, and support they need to shape their futures.”
Meanwhile, MGM Studios’ head of film marketing, Stephen Bruno, described the campaign as a “powerful way” to utilize fan power for a cause. The parties involved in this campaign will raise awareness through retail activation, community screenings with local organizations, and fan content centered on children’s welfare. These events will take place until the movie’s release on June 5.
Meanwhile, Masters of the Universe explores Prince Adam’s (Galitzine) return to Eternia, the home he’s been away from for the past 15 years. After finding it crumbling under the sinister rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto), he teams up with Teela (Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba) while embracing his new identity as He-Man.
In June 2025, Galitzine announced the project’s conclusion with a message of gratitude. “It has been an honor shouldering the responsibility of playing Adam and He-Man,” he wrote. “It’s been the role of a lifetime, and I put everything into it…” Are you excited for the movie?
