When we say Spider-Man fans are eating well, we’re not fibbing at all. This year is packed with some of the most stellar movie and TV series releases, and it so happens to be Spider-Man, but hold up. There’s even more exciting news coming in for all Spidey fans, so buckle up!

Reports suggest Spider-Man projects are in the works

Oren Uziel, the showrunner associated with the Spider-Noir series, spoke to SFX Magazine recently. He shed light on the upcoming projects and also spoke about how the noir series is setting a standard for some of the future projects as a whole.

“I’m focused on Spider-Noir, but I know there are others in the works. I’ve talked a bit to the people working on them, and I think they are very exciting. They’re following a little bit of that same formula [as Spider-Noir], that same idea of taking a genre and elevating it by putting a Spider-variant into it. It opens up a whole new world, and it’s just an extremely exciting opportunity.”

Spider-Noir is dark, brooding, and mysterious, and brings the classic 30s panache style. It’s not every day one comes across superhero noir done so elaborately and with finesse.

Nicholas Cage dons a classic trench coat in true PI fashion, pun intended. There’s Li Jun Li, who invokes the Hollywood starlet vibe, but most of all, there’s Spider-Man, who, in the middle of the glitz and glam, resurfaces as the top hero.

Cage plays the role of Ben Reilly, a PI who must seek his true self to fight crime in the city. He must look back to his old self, the Spider-Man, while uncovering a painful and tumultuous past.

There’s also Brendan Gleeson joining in as Silvermane, Jack Huston as Sandman, and Joe Massingill as Electro. The cast already looks more than promising, but what seems more alluring is how the studios paired monochrome with the superhero genre.

Now, Uziel did not elaborate or expand on what the new projects might exactly be. There also hasn’t been any clarification as to what genre the studios might work around with, but it would be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Spider-Noir is slated for release on 27th May 2026.
