Zara Larsson spoke to The Guardian about this incident and didn’t hold back in her criticism of fans and people’s backlash. She said:

“When a woman has boundaries, I think people freak out. Men can do violent criminal things, and people applaud them, but when a woman says, ‘Stop following me,’ it’s controversial? It’s like: you guys just hate women, actually.”

To give context, Jorginho, his wife, Catherine Harding, and stepdaughter Ada Law attended the Lollapalooza Festival in Brazil. They noticed Roan on the same hotel premises, and Ada approached the star.

It was during breakfast that the incident happened when the kid approached Roan’s table and smiled at her and returned to her table as pointed out by the footballer. What followed was a security guy approaching Jorginho’s table and confronting the kid about the “harassment.”

Jorginho described the aftermath as completely disproportionate. He spoke about the entire incident in an Instagram post on March 21, where he also claimed the security guard’s confrontation made his stepdaughter break down in tears.

I don’t know at what point simply walking past a table and looking to see if someone is there can be considered harassment. He even said he would file a complaint against them with the hotel, while my 11-year-old daughter was sitting there in tears. My daughter was extremely shaken and cried a lot.

This incident sparked a backlash against Roan, where fans called out the singer for her behavior. Some criticized her move while others blamed Jorginho’s daughter for a lack of boundaries.

With recent developments, it was revealed that the security guard acted as a part of the hotel’s security and wasn’t a part of Roan’s security team. The singer has previously spoken up on invasive paparazzi and fans’ toxic and predatory behavior. She opened up about getting stalked and harassed, and also revealed how it ultimately affected her family members as well.

Roan hasn’t given any statement as of yet regarding the matter.
