Warner Bros. is currently on a roll. Be they the Golden Globes or the Actor Awards, Sinners and One Battle After Another have had a consistent winning streak. Ahead of the Oscars, though, the team celebrated the movies’ success.

Warner Bros. celebrates Sinners and One Battle After Another’s success

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav celebrated Sinners and One Battle After Another. In his speech, he said, “We talked about Paul, the greatest of this generation, a storyteller, and people came to see his stories. We talked about Ryan Coogler, the greatest writer, director, and filmmaker of his generation. Then we talked about Michael B. Jordan, and we said what if? And we talked about Leo, and here we are.”

Earlier, Zaslav also celebrated DC Studios’ Superman, which did amazingly well at the box office. He also spoke up about the need to have more people in movie theaters. To have people appreciate the movies, and it ties in well with storytelling.

The CEO appreciated both Coogler’s and Anderson’s storytelling and narrative style while praising the film’s nominations and recent wins. Pam Abdy, Warner Bros. film chief, also expressed her gratitude towards the team, saying, “This moment in my 30-year career will go down as the most emotional, turbulent, wonderful, inspiring time of my life.”

Abdy almost teared up and got emotional while giving her speech, where she thanked the entire crew and cast, including the directors. She also felt fortunate enough to be able to make these movies along with all of them.

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners is ahead in the game with 16 Oscar nominations. Paul Anderson’s One Battle After Another is also catching up, with 13 Oscar nominations this year.

In a historic moment, Michael B. Jordan also bagged the nomination for Best Actor at the Oscars. He previously won the Actor Awards for Outstanding Male Actor in a leading role for Sinners.

Both movies have become box office hits. It would be exciting to see how the Oscars play out, but we can all hope for the best.
