Tom Brady watches sports. That is 95% of what goes on his TV. NCAA tournament, golf, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Las Vegas Aces games because he owns a piece of the team. So when someone asks him about Heated Rivalry, the scripted sports drama everyone is talking about, the answer matters.

Brady Saw It and He Is Not Playing Nice About How Good It Is

I have. I’ve seen the first episode, and I thought that it was really good. It’s really, really good, really well written. Great actors. That’s a great show,” Brady told The Hollywood Reporter on March 26, 2026.

He’s only seen the one episode. He admitted that. But “really, really good, really well written” from a man who watches almost nothing but actual sports is not a small endorsement.

Heated Rivalry is the scripted HBO series following two rival athletes whose competition becomes something more complicated. It got a Golden Globes tie-in earlier this year that a chunk of the internet was not happy about. Brady clearly does not share that opinion.

He was also asked if he’d ever star in something similar. “I never say never, but it’s probably not what I enjoy most.” Fair enough from a man who also just admitted he tried to find out if the NFL would let a minority owner come out of retirement and play. The league said no. Brady said he’s very happily retired and also said that with a tone that left people debating whether he was joking.

That retirement conversation came from a CNBC interview the same week. Brady is a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders now, does Fox commentary every Sunday, just played in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, where he threw a 20-yard touchdown to Stefon Diggs at 48 years old, and is reportedly in WWE negotiations for a WrestleMania 42 appearance against Logan Paul.

Dave Meltzer said the Brady and Paul flag football beef was all part of building a wrestling angle. Brady called Paul a name on camera while working out with Rob Gronkowski. Paul claimed he is as athletic as Saquon Barkley. Brady said it was cute.

Busy week for a man who is very happily retired. At least he’s caught up on Heated Rivalry.
