Many ballet artists and opera performers condemned his statements. What truly triggered them was Chalamet’s insensitive approach and impression of an opera singer. New York’s Metropolitan Opera shared a snippet of the entire process behind an opera show. The reel was captioned, saying, “All respect to the opera (and ballet) people out there.”
The clip also showed the grand visuals of the proscenium theater and audience seats while artisans worked on the set.
