Marvel has dropped the second teaser for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, this time focusing on Chris Hemsworth‘s Thor as the latter is about to head to one last battle, praying for the safety of his adopted daughter. After the teaser last week that featured Captain America, the latest teaser for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday now features Thor. The teaser features the latter kneeling in a forest filled with trees as he seeks divine instructions from his deceased father, Odin.

This teaser reveals Love (played by Hemsworth’s real-life daughter, India), who has appeared in Thor: Love and Thunder, lying in bed as her father, Thor, gives her a goodnight kiss on her forehead before heading out in response to the call of duty in fighting the mighty Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. Love is revealed to be the daughter of Gorr the God Butcher, the antagonist in Thor: Love and Thunder, who has lost his own daughter before giving the charge to raise Love as her own in his last moment of life, making him responsible in morality as well.

The Avengers: Doomsday boasts an unparalleled ensemble star cast, including not only the regular Avengers lineup but also the roster of popular personalities from the worlds of Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and the X-Men series. Hemsworth is joined by Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Simu Liu, and the addition of the Fantastic Four series through the presence of Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach adds an interesting dimension to the ensemble.

This crossover series also includes the addition of Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, and Lewis Pullman from the roster of the Thunderbolts series, followed by Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, and Rebecca Romijn, among others, making it a crossover series in the Marvel universe on the silver screen.

The teaser combines action and dramatic moments to showcase the heroics of Thor, in addition to his own personal motivations. Through the idea of his commitment to safeguard Love against Doom, the Marvel franchise develops the character of Thor, aside from his usual heroic acts, indicating a sense of urgency that will lead to the eventual battle in the Doomsday installment. The teaser helps to create the urgency not only for the action-packed scenes of the heroic ensemble but for Hemsworth’s characterization as well, indicating that the ending of his story in the Avengers series will be a personal and epic experience.
