Please note: This article contains major spoilers from the finale episode of My Hero Academia, so read at your own risk.
“Mr. Midoriya—Mr. Deku, where should we gather for this afternoon’s practical exercise?”
The last episode of My Hero Academia came to a full circle as we saw the little Koto, who once hated and despised heroes, is now a student of UA. And immediately, we finally get a glimpse of the adult Midoriya, who is now a teacher at the very same institution he once dreamed of entering, even though he had no Quirks.
As we all expected, the final episode shows us the montage of the present and the past that our beloved class of 1-A.
Deku speaks about what he learned at the age of 17

We see Deku asking Uravity whether her plans are still the same as they were once as they walk out of UA, acknowledging that only three months are left before they all graduate.
It’s a very bittersweet episode to watch, especially for those who have been loyal to the class of 1-A since 2016. We follow Deku collecting his diploma as the principal acknowledges the world wouldn’t be the same without him, hinting that he is indeed the “Symbol of Peace” All Might once was.
The graduation ceremony was represented by the most beloved class rep, Tenya Iida, aka Ingenium, as he gave a heartfelt speech. He speaks about his belief that even when the world was engulfed by great evil, what allowed everyone to overcome it without losing hope was their togetherness. Even though everyone is now officially graduated, fans know that in the minds of Class 1-A, they know what it means to be a hero as they live their lives.
And of course, with a huge spectacle made by Kacchan, aka Bakugo, the ceremony concludes. It’s honestly so heartwarming that even after everything and after all these years, Deku is still fanboying All Might, who transferred his One For All Quirk.
We understand that the story that we have all watched for the past nine years is a living record that is being written by Deku himself. He asks all of us, Why is he still writing this even after losing the One for All quirk, and to our surprise, he acknowledges that there’s still runtime in the episode.
This is just the beginning for class 1-A

We see a major time shift as the story takes place eight years later, in a school where the new generation heroes are talking about what course they want to take in UA.
And suddenly, we hear that not everyone wants to be a part of the prestigious Hero Course, as one of the students wishes to join the Support Program and work under a support item design firm where Mei Hatsume works. While someone wants to be a doctor, another one wants to work in a gaming company.
And then we see someone named Dai, who reminds us of the young Midoriya, who was once made fun of because he was quirkless. We see young Dai standing in front of All Might’s statue, acknowledging that he visits this place every time he feels anxious.
We see that everyone from the batch is doing well, as they are finally able to do what they have always dreamed of doing. And because Deku is again back to being a quirkless person, as he was as a kid, we see Aizawa scolding him and reminding him that anyone can join UA now, which practically guarantees to become a future hero.
This keeps us with the notion that the world around them is changing, and anyone can become a hero. We see Deku standing in front of the same statue Dai was standing in front of and speaking to himself. And as expected, we see Dai and Deku meeting, which really made all of us feel nostalgic, because the way Dai fanboys Midoriya, he too did the same with All Might.
Dai shares his feelings about his quirk being weak, and suddenly, we see Deku standing up the same way All Might once did to him. He tells young Dai, “After all, you lend a healing hand back there. You can be a hero.” Midoriya stands in front of UA, acknowledging that this is the story of how they became the greatest heroes, and meets All Might, who gives him a briefcase, which is a gift from everyone in his class.
That briefcase changes into an armed arm when Deku holds it as All Might tells him that this, too, is a power that he has earned because of his efforts, and we see Deku joining his batchmates on another adventure, giving us the perfect closure of My Hero Academia.
