For the last nine years, we have seen everything happening in our favorite “Quirkless HeroIzuku’s life since he joined his dream school, the UA. And it’s honestly been such a wonderful journey that it’s almost unbelievable it’s finally coming to an end. The final chapter of My Hero Academia’s anime is just one day away, and the excitement surrounding its last episode has intensified after the recent release of a new preview.

Only 24 hours are left before we all witness Izuku Midoriya and Class 1-A making their final appearance, and we have been wondering how far the ending would go and what tone the finale might take (it only matters to those who haven’t read the manga, of course).

For those who haven’t watched the preview, basically, we get our first look at an adult Deku. It’s a very brief moment, but enough to signal that the anime is intending to honor not only the end of the war but the future that it will eventually follow. A future that is shaped by years of rebuilding, growth, and the aftermath of heroism.

Now that All For One and Shigaraki are defeated, what remains for everyone is to restore balance, help all the civilians, and restore the OG Hero Society. The penultimate episode finally gave Izuku and Ochaco the emotional space to acknowledge their feelings, which honestly was long overdue. Even though it was small and brief, but the meaningful pause after all these seasons defined by non-stop mess finally makes things better.

Even with that moment of peace, those who know they know that the last episode still holds a major revelation, long-awaited appearances, and delicate farewells that will make everyone cry. The preview itself hints at a scope and suggests glimpses of the future, respecting the manga’s original conclusion.

Although an extended version of the final episode still remains unconfirmed, but at the same time, many fans of MHA suspect it may need extra time to fully realize everything creator Kohei Horikoshi added to his final chapter.

Vigilantes anime arrives next, but without ‘Class 1-A’

When Horikoshi first published the manga’s ending in the Weekly Shonen Jump, he later returned to expand it, with each character’s post-war path. Those additions have significantly transformed the finale into a bridge between all the characters’ growth in the last nine years, offering closure without closing the door entirely.

While Horikoshi has not announced a sequel or spin-off directly tied to Deku’s adult years, the world of My Hero Academia is hardly finished. January will bring the anime adaptation of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and fans need to remember that these events won’t intersect with Class 1-A.

Even though we are just one episode close to the conclusion, there is no denying that the franchise’s cinematic future still remains open. A fifth movie is unconfirmed, yet the previous film, You’re Next, was not billed as the last. If a new installment is greenlit, it may very well follow the adult heroes teased in the finale, continuing their stories beyond the academy.
