It’s official, and it’s finally happening because the countdown to The Boys Season 5 has officially begun, and we, the fans of Prime Video’s brutal, unhinged superhero saga, are gearing up for an ending that promises a lot of mess on a scale that the series hasn’t dared to touch before. The final season, titled Scorched Earth, arrives in 2026, and the announcement came with posters that instantly set the tone by showing Antony Starr’s Homelander floating in space, staring down at explosions tearing across Earth.

While another features Karl Urban’s Butcher walking away from the ruins of Vought headquarters with a crowbar in hand, hinting that the final chapter won’t be subtle about the destruction coming.

Season 5 lands in 2026, but the mystery around the date keeps all of us hooked

Prime Video teased the reveal with a message promising “shock and awe, blood and bone,” while reminding us that a first look is dropping at CCXP in Brazil. Season 5 brings back the OG cast Starr, Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, and Nathan Mitchell. While also delivering a reunion that has both The Boys and Supernatural fans buzzing, with Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, and Jensen Ackles joining forces once again.

And honestly, their arrival alone has set off rounds of speculation about how their characters will collide with the exploding storyline, especially with new cast member Daveed Diggs joining the final-season mix. While Prime Video has confirmed a 2026 premiere, the exact date remains under wraps, something that none of us are getting anytime soon, but the CCXP “first taste” will help hold fans over.

With Season 4 having dropped its first three episodes together before switching to weekly releases, many are wondering if Season 5 will follow the same pattern or shake things up for the grand finale.

Those who know, the story is based on the comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and brought to life by showrunner Eric Kripke alongside Sony Pictures Television and multiple production partners. The Boys has spent four seasons building toward this moment, and according to Karl Urban, the final run doesn’t waste a second before turning everything upside down.

Speaking at the San Francisco Fan Expo, Urban promised that the stakes hit hard right from Episode 1, warning all of us and the audience to expect emotional punches and major character losses. With Homelander edging closer to absolute power, the Seven growing more dangerous, and the Boys fractured, hunted, and in some cases imprisoned, the final season is set up as an explosive endgame. Kripke recently reassured fans that the team is deep in post-production and that the season is arriving “reasonably soon,” but until the date drops, the only thing left to do is wait and brace ourselves for the impact Urban keeps teasing.
