Ryan Murphy’s biographical drama series has officially taken the internet by storm. Love Story, which premiered on February 12, 2026, has made quite a splash since its release. However, no one was prepared for the series’ record-breaking performance.

Love Story delivers record-breaking streaming numbers

Love Story has a total of nine episodes, and so far, only six have been released. The view count to date is massive, surpassing 25 million hours across Disney+ and Hulu. This was confirmed by The Deadline in their feature. This is a first for FX, mainly because the series set viewership records. The series was announced in 2021, and it created quite the buzz among viewers.

It is based on the lives of John F. Kennedy Jr. and his long-time romance with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. The series takes a deep dive into their romance, their struggles with society, and their eventual marriage. It showcases their turbulent relationship, which was affected by their social positions.

Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy was a publicist who worked with Calvin Klein until her marriage to John F. Kennedy Jr., who was an attorney and businessman. They later got married in an intimate setting and remained together until their passing in 1999.

Their relationship, however, was met with public scrutiny and controversies involving widespread maligning. The paparazzi, in particular, thoroughly critiqued the Kennedys for their decision to maintain privacy. They even mispainted and misrepresented Bessett for the years to come.

The struggle with the press and their subsequent tussle with their own families is beautifully depicted in Ryan Murphy’s series. Sarah Pidgeon and Paul Anthony Kelly bring out the characters’ complexities through their performances. The visuals and sets are sure to transport viewers back to the golden age of the 90s.

From Glee to Pose, Murphy’s roster is versatile, and with Love Story, he has added yet another feather to his cap.

Love Story’s trailer invokes a sense of revival by recreating the glitz and glam of that decade. In doing so, the series also highlights and underlines the dark side of the media industry.
