Anthony and Joe Russo are heading to Shoreditch this June, and they are bringing their entire storytelling universe with them.

AGBO confirmed as a major partner for SXSW

SXSW London announced the partnership on Monday, describing AGBO as a major partner for the festival’s second year.

AGBO, the independent studio the brothers founded in 2017, will be integrated across both the Conference and Screen Festival programmes, bringing its cross-medium approach to storytelling across film, television, gaming, and immersive experiences to the event running June 1 through 6 in London’s Shoreditch neighborhood.

Anthony and Joe Russo will attend in person alongside Donald Mustard, who joined AGBO as a partner after leaving his role as chief creative officer at Epic Games.

The timing of the announcement is hard to miss. The brothers are currently in post-production on Avengers: Doomsday, set for release on December 18, making them about as high-profile a pair of filmmakers as the industry currently has to offer.

AGBO’s chief creative officer, Angela Russo-Otstot, explained the thinking behind the partnership in clear terms. “AGBO was founded on the belief that storytelling today is no longer confined to a single medium—it’s expansive, interconnected, and constantly evolving,” she said.

SXSW London represents exactly the kind of global platform where those ideas can come to life. The U.K. has long been a driving force in the arts, technology, and gaming. We’re excited to explore how storytelling is evolving across disciplines and to engage with a new generation of creators shaping what comes next.”

Katy Arnander, chief programming officer at SXSW London, was equally enthusiastic.

This is a significant collaboration, bringing some of the most influential voices in global storytelling into the programme,” she said.AGBO’s focus on building expansive storytelling universes across film, gaming, and digital platforms aligns perfectly with SXSW London’s ethos.

AGBO’s credits include Avengers: Endgame, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Extraction, The Grey Man, and the Citadel franchise, whose second season debuts in May 2026.

The studio also has several projects in various stages of production, including TYGO starring Don Lee and Lalisa Manobal, Mercenary set within the Extraction universe, and The Whisper Man starring Robert De Niro. Avengers: Secret Wars, the follow-up to Doomsday, is now in pre-production.

Other confirmed speakers for SXSW London this year include Neon’s Tom Quinn, actress Sophia Bush, and YouTuber Markiplier.
