One of the most beloved video game franchises, Street Fighter, is getting a live-action adaptation. The film, which features a strong ensemble cast, is scheduled for release on October 16, 2026. Recently, one of WWE’s biggest stars, Roman Reigns, who plays Akuma in the film, said his co-star Jason Momoa has what it takes to be a star in the wrestling business.
Momoa got all the tools to make it big in pro-wrestling, says Reigns
In an interview with Jimmy Fallon on his show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Roman Reigns was asked if his co-star, Jason Momoa, who is portraying the character Blanka in Street Fighter, would make a good WWE star. He instantly replied, jokingly, that the Aquaman star could take his place in the business once he retires.
“When I am done, Jason, it is all yours. I think he would be great, to be honest,” Reigns said. He highlighted that Momoa is a physical specimen and has charisma, thus having all the necessary tools to break through in WWE.
“He has got all the tools physically. He has a great charisma about him. He is eccentric; he is a little bit different. So I think he would fit in,” Reigns noted.
Momoa’s larger-than-life aura and his screen presence would definitely make him one of the top contenders to become a WWE wrestler. Furthermore, he already has experience in choreographed combat while shooting many action films, which would come in handy in the business. Celebrities crossing into WWE isn’t new, with YouTuber Logan Paul even becoming a regular performer, impressing fans with his athleticism.
Nevertheless, Momoa hasn’t seriously hinted at any plans to join WWE. But, with “The Tribal Chief” vouching for him, it might not be a bad idea for Momoa to try his luck in wrestling if acting becomes too one-dimensional for him. The crossover connection between Hollywood and WWE remains interesting, with Momoa clearly having what it takes on paper to find success in the industry.
