Pixar’s Monsters, Inc., preps for its third installation
Monsters, Inc. is getting its third movie, according to the Wall Street Journal. Pixar is currently working on multiple projects. The original movie Monsters, Inc. premiered in 2001 and has a standalone rating of 8.1/10 on IMDb. It stands as an iconic childhood film. The film followed the story of Mike and Sulley, two monsters who help a human girl, Boo, when she accidentally enters Monstropolis.
In 2013, the studio also released a prequel called Monsters University. It followed the journey of Mike and Sulley meeting for the first time. It gave viewers a backdrop of how the characters’ friendship actually started.
Pixar is also currently headlining The Ono Ghost Market. This animated film will center on Asian folklore. It will also highlight the dynamic between supernatural beings and humans.
Not only that, but they are also in tandem with Canadian animator and filmmaker Domee Shi for their upcoming musical. It would be based on Turning Red. It seems hopeful, and fans cannot wait to see how this one turns out. Pixar will also release Gatto on March 5, 2027. It will be a treat for most cat lovers, as the movie is based on a mob cat and his journey in Venice.
The studio also has Toy Story 5’s release up its sleeve. The fifth installment will be released in June 2026. Pete Docter also confirmed that The Incredibles 3 is in development, with a 2028 release, and that a sequel to Coco is now officially in the works for 2029.
