Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is a much-anticipated film. It is the final film in the Spider-Verse trilogy that fans have been eagerly waiting for. While it is suggested that the film will be released in 2027, Phil Lord teased the fans about what they can expect soon.
Phil Lord spills beans on Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse
In an interview with Tech Radar, showrunner and producer Phil Lord spoke up about the film’s fate. He was asked about the final film’s trailer, to which he replied, saying, “Stay tuned. Soon. You’ll see something soon…ish.”
For the final film in the trilogy, Lord explained his process of fleshing out the storyline. He spoke to Gizmodo recently about the film’s beginning and end, saying, “We know where it’s headed, but we need to understand better what’s happening in the middle,” Lord added. “And we came upon a really wonderful notion, which is when your family is broken apart by your calling, your talents, how do you put them back together? How do you have it all?”
Spider- Man: Across the Spider-Verse was released in 2023, and it was also the sequel to the 2018 film Spider-Verse. Spider-Verse introduced Miles Morales, while the sequel took a deep dive into the backstory of the character.
Fans have been waiting for this movie for years now. There are several reasons why even the sequel was delayed, and that has to do with the 2023 SAG AFTRA strikes along with COVID, which ultimately led the producers to hit a pause.
Beyond the Spider-Verse will throw the spotlight on Morales’ character. He finds himself entangled in a mess of events concerning his family. The character is in an alternate universe where he has to fight it all alone.
In Across the Spider-Verse, Miles struggles to save his family. In the process, he loses his father, his uncle survives, and ultimately, Gwen decides to seek help from Spider People. This was all after Miles refused to bow down to Miguel O’Hara’s motives and ideologies.
Beyond The Spider-Verse will likely focus on Miles escaping the alternate dimension and finding his way back home. The film is scheduled for release in 2027.
