It’s not all roses and sunshine when it comes to acting. With finesse there comes fumbling as well, and that happens to be the case with Odessa A’Zion. The Marty Supreme star opened up about how she missed the mark with her The Little Mermaid audition.

Odessa A’Zion opened up about her audition blunder to Variety. This was about the 2023 live-action film The Little Mermaid. She said, “I was so nervous that I forgot the lyrics to ‘Part of Your World.’ Because I was doing it in Ariel’s voice, you know, like a princess voice, and then they’re like, ‘Just do it normal.’ I couldn’t do it normally. I mesmerized it with that voice. Didn’t hear about, didn’t get a callback.”

It is completely normal for actors to miss out on important roles. This was no different, and eventually Halle Bailey was cast as Ariel, but here’s something fans should know. A’Zion is not only an actress but also a talented musical artist. She is proficient in guitar as well as piano.

She once told Teen Vogue in 2020 that she would tour in LA as a teen with her band Dessa. Her skills aren’t that polished, as she claims, saying, “I haven’t done anything with my band in a long time, but I do love playing music. I wish I were better. You can always be better. I wish I could play some gnarly stuff on guitar, but I can’t really do anything. I taught three or four of my close friends how to play guitar, and now they can all shred, and I’m still at the same level I was at when I was eight.”

She has mainly acted in horror movies. Be it Hellraiser, The Inhabitant, or her iconic flick Until Dawn, she delivered excellence.

The actress also has a diverse roster of filmography, including romcoms, dramas, and crime thriller movies. As of late, she has been working on the family drama film Mother Courage, which is currently in production.
