Every actor or actress has certain pet peeves regarding kissing scenes. Nicole Kidman is no stranger to that, especially when it came to her co-star Alexander Skarsgård. She recently revealed her unusual demand before filming the intimate scene with him.
Nicole Kidman’s dealbreaker demand for Alexander Skarsgård
Nicole Kidman, in an episode of the podcast Las Culturistas, revealed the dealbreaker demand. The actress told Alexander Skarsgård, her co-star in the dark comedy series Big Little Lies, not to eat falafel before the kissing scenes. She said:
“This is a deal-breaker for me. You could be the most gorgeous, gorgeous guy, and if you came at me with bad breath, I’m like, no. If I say, ‘Breath on me,’ and I have to recoil, yikes, I’m out. You could not offer me enough money.“
Kidman also reminisced about the moment when her costar ate falafel. She was worried it might spoil the food for him entirely, where she added, “When Alexander Skarsgård ate a falafel sandwich before we did the scenes in ‘Big Little Lies,’ I’m like, ‘No, no, no, Alex. I’m meant to be into you and kissing you—put away the falafel now,’ I’m sure he did not eat a falafel ever again. I said, ‘No more falafel. Not before you kiss, not before you make love.’”
Skarsgård and Kidman starred in the 2017 comedy series Big Little Lies as a married couple named Perry and Celeste Wright. They have a troubled relationship throughout the series, which the actors portrayed brilliantly.
Kidman brings forth the intricacies of survival, healing, and strength through her acting. These are some common themes that are prevalent in the series. Alexander Skarsgård also brought out the complexities of his character beautifully throughout the series.
Season 3’s air date, however, has not been announced so far. What we do know is that Nicole Kidman, Zoe Kravitz, Shailene Woodley, and Laura Dern are set to return as the main cast. Reese Witherspoon will also return as the producer.
