Robert Pattinson says The Batman Part II will be ‘a really different type of Batman movie’

In a separate interview with Deadline, Pattinson went even further, calling the script extraordinary and teasing that the film will be nothing like what fans are expecting.

I think it’s going to be a really, really special movie and very, very different. It’s taking some big swings,” he said.

Colin Farrell, who is returning as Oz Cobb, was equally effusive when he spoke about it on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “I really do think it’s a masterwork. Kind of a contemporary genre masterwork. It’s so brilliant, and Robert has got such a lovely journey to go on and take the audience through.

Fans have been waiting since 2022 for this sequel, and it has been delayed multiple times, first from October 2025, then pushed to October 2026, and finally landed on October 1, 2027. Filming begins in late May at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, as well as in Liverpool and Glasgow.

The returning cast includes Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Colin Farrell as The Penguin. Sebastian Stan is in talks to play Harvey Dent, Barry Keoghan is expected back as the Joker, and Scarlett Johansson has also joined in a role that is still being kept under wraps.
