Marvel followers can finally let out a collective sigh of relief as ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is set to come back for its third installment. Marvel Studios has announced that production for the show is set to kick off in 2026, which means that the ‘Man Without Fear’ won’t be putting away his horns anytime soon. This was announced by Marvel Studios’ head of streaming, television, and animation, Brad Winderbaum, during an interview with IGN, where he confirmed, “In terms of Daredevil, yeah, we are greenlit for Season 3 and we start shooting next year.”
This news ends weeks of confusion following statements by Charlie Cox that referred to Season 2 as the “final season,” although later on, Vincent D’Onofrio hinted there might be hope for the show to continue, but now it has been made official by Marvel.
Born Again’s launch was accompanied by the responsibility of reviving the praised Netflix series Daredevil and adjusting to the Marvel Disney+ format. In Season 1, Charlie Cox again portrayed the character of Matt Murdock, juggling his life as a lawyer and a vigilante, while Vincent D’Onofrio was back as Wilson Fisk, the infamous Kingpin that we all know about. Their fight again became the central focus of the series.
Street-Level Drama Intensified As Daredevil: Born Again Journey Continues

However, it should be noted that the first season was not entirely smooth either. According to sources, Marvel had initially intended Born Again to be a close-to-complete reboot and to distance it from the Netflix series. However, the initial reaction of the actors as well as fans like us helped Marvel change course in the middle of production. This caused new episodes to be written and reshot, allowing them to incorporate a darker and grimmer tone that matched the original series.
Slated to air in early 2026, Season 2 will mark the first complete season under this new vision, and obviously, the pressure is already on. Krysten Ritter’s return as Jessica Jones will be the first big Defenders crossover since Marvel took back control of its Netflix shows. It also gives hope for additional cameos, as we fans continue to speculate about Luke Cage, Iron Fist, or even Jon Bernthal’s Punisher making an appearance down the road.
Marvel Promises More Action, Drama, and Defenders Connections

But that’s not all. On top of all that, it has been confirmed that Elden Henson will also make an appearance, having had a small cameo in the re-shot pilot episode as Foggy Nelson. Then, of course, there are rumors of Wilson Bethel reprising his role as Bullseye, and Deborah Ann Woll possibly reprising her role as Karen Page, but Marvel has kept all of those details very quiet. But now that Season 3 is a reality, Marvel has the opportunity to build upon Born Again to make it an integral part of their street-level storytelling. The conflict between Matt Murdock and Fisk is far from over, and the increase in character-driven storytelling indicates that they will finally get the storytelling that made the Netflix series so popular. There is even chatter that Marvel might incorporate Born Again to properly integrate the Defenders into the MCU.
