Earlier, Avengers: Doomsday had fans divided for the most part. The teaser garnered mixed reactions, but with the latest update on the film, things do seem promising. What is it, though? Let’s find out!

Avengers: Doomsday receives hype ahead of release

As reported by Complex Pop Culture on X, the creators of Avengers: Doomsday held a private screening of the movie. It was a test screening that included staff, but likely, independent film reviewers were also present.

One such review was given by Robert Meyer Burnett on X, who reposted the update on X, saying, “Toldja’ it was gonna’ SLAY back in November. No Cap. (Well…actually…YES, Cap, but in a different way.

Burnett is a producer, director, and notable film critic known for his contributions to Star Trek and to Femme Fatales and Free Enterprise as a writer.

There are also unofficial sources claiming that the film is more than 3 hours, though it hasn’t been addressed as of yet. The reviews of Doomsday suggest that it is the best Marvel film, as reported by some sources on X.

Before the reviews, there were growing concerns among viewers regarding the plot. It seemed more of a nostalgic trip, considering the movie featured many Marvel heroes in cameos, but that’s not all.

Some fans weren’t happy about the studio making it all about old heroes, and it being a nostalgic ride. To some, it felt empty, while others also pointed out that the studio did not use the new characters to their maximum potential.

While the movie is all about celebrating heroism, the movie significantly left out a chunk of heroes as well. There’s Wanda Maximoff and Hulk, who won’t be making a cameo anytime soon.

As for Captain Marvel’s character, there has been a lot of suspense regarding her possible cameo in the movie. While some sources suggest she might return, others speculated that there hasn’t been any official statement.

Regarding Doomsday’s reviews, we know one thing for sure. So far, the reception has been positive. The movie is estimated to make around 2 billion at the box office. For its production alone, it took a whopping $400-600 million.

Avengers: Doomsday is slated for release on 18th December 2026.
