Tom Brady and Kevin Hart were out promoting the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, and Jayden Daniels caught some heat. Brady started it, Hart ran with it, and the internet did the rest.

Brady Texted First, Hart Finished It

Brady appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 17 and mentioned that he had already sent trash-talk texts to both Jayden Daniels and Joe Burrow. “I texted Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels. They’re the opposing quarterbacks. I said, ‘You know, I love beating Heisman Trophy winners.’ I was the 199th pick, and I always took dead aim at the guys who were picked way ahead of me. They said, ‘Talk that you-know-what and bring it on.'”

Hart took that energy and ran further with it. When Daniels tried to flex his Heisman on him, Hart was not impressed. “Those are cute… beating all the guys who are selling insurance now.” That line went everywhere.

The context here matters. Brady was a sixth-round pick who beat out a generation of Heisman Trophy winners and first-round quarterbacks throughout his career. He’s been making that point for 25 years, and he’s not stopping now. Hart was basically doing the color commentary version of it.

Daniels just finished his second NFL season as the starting quarterback for the Washington Commanders, won Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2024, and has looked like a legit franchise quarterback. The joke is more of a Brady signature move than an actual dig.

The Fanatics Flag Football Classic featured Brady and Jalen Hurts as co-captains on one team against Burrow and Daniels on the other. The game took place at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday, airing live on FOX. IShowSpeed, Logan Paul, Saquon Barkley, Odell Beckham Jr., and Rob Gronkowski all played as well.

Brady is 48 years old and has been retired since 2023, having spent the last two seasons doing commentary for FOX. None of that has made him any less competitive, and his pre-game comments made that very clear. Daniels said, “Bring it on,” and it certainly made for a fun Saturday.
