Kelly Osbourne has taken a very strong stance against the online criticism she has received regarding her appearance at the 2026 BRIT Awards on Saturday night. Kelly appeared at the BRIT Awards with her mother, Sharon Osbourne, to celebrate her late father, Ozzy Osbourne, following his posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award.
Kelly Osbourne responds to online cruelty
While it was meant to be an emotional tribute, people took to social media criticizing Kelly Osbourne and her slim appearance instead of talking about the celebration of her late father. Some comments turned particularly harsh, with one X user writing that it looked “like she hired Michael Jackson’s plastic surgeon.”
Kelly wrote through her Instagram stories, “There’s a special kind of cruelty to attacking someone who’s clearly going through something very painful. I’m going through the hardest time in my life. I shouldn’t have to defend myself, but I’m not going to sit back and allow people to dehumanize me.”
At the BRIT Awards, which were held at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, Kelly and Sharon Osbourne accepted the award in the name of Ozzy Osbourne nearly a year after his death at 76.
While giving her speech, Sharon expressed herself, saying, “If Ozzy were here tonight with us, he would be showing us that gorgeous smile that he had, and I know he would be so proud to receive this from the country that he loved.”
Sharon Osbourne organized the tribute performance at the event, along with Robbie Williams and other musicians who had worked with Ozzy at different points in his career. Later, in an interview on Piers Morgan’s show, Sharon Osbourne defended her daughter, stating that grief affects people differently, including physically, such as their appetite.
Kelly Osbourne attended this event dressed in a floor-length black velvet gown, a feathered bolero, and an “O” necklace to pay tribute to her dad.
